About

Friends of the Library Supports Multnomah County Library

Friends of the Multnomah County Library (FOL) advocates for and supports our outstanding public library. We provide supplemental funding for library programs and services, and sponsor activities which engage people who value our library.

Since 1972, FOL has advocated on behalf of Multnomah County Library (MCL) and provided funding for critical programs and services including National Library Workers Day events and the Adult Summer Reading program.
Though the pandemic limited our ability to hold book sales, we have extended over $93,000 in grants to MCL since 2020.

FOL has recently committed $200,000 in future funding to assist with building costs of the new East County Library which is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2025.
